Last week was Fire Safety Week. We learned and celebrated in kindergarten by reading books, discussing how to be safe at home and school and doing activities to support our learning.
The local Fire Department came to visit us in the afternoon. Afternoon kindergarteners and ELI students got to ask questions to firefighters and see their truck up close. The firefighters had lots to share and wanted to see EVERYTHING on the truck. One boy said to a firefighter, "What else do you have to show us [on your truck]?"
When we came back to our classroom, we turned&talked (one of our class routines) to share with a partner about what they learned. Then we shared our and did some interactive writing about our experience.
